It has bin very fine weather warm and pleasant.

I worked all day packed shingles and rossed blocks. 

I am working for Swancot of Lee Center 

on Palos Pond Brooksaw mill.

January              Sunday, 2                 1870

Last night there was a dance to Lee Center.

They had a warm time of it as report says it has rained some through the day.  

I've bin up to the Swancot's after some writing materials. I've wrote two letters today.
