January                        Thursday, 1                      1880

I have been at home all day.  Did not feel very good. Spun some tobacco.  It has not been very cold today.
Sleighing quite good at present.  About eight inches of snow.



January                          Friday, 2                            1880

Have been skidding logs for Christian Yousey.  Today has been quite cold all day.  It was late when Yousey came out.  Very good skiding at present.




July                            Friday, 2                       1880
Was at Bintz this morning after Mrs. Bintz - this afternoon I was at P. VerSnyder's after his wife.  We have a little stranger, a girl at 4p.m.  Barbara and child are well.




July                         Wednesday, 7                1880
Went to funeral of George Bolivar today.  He died yesterday morning at six.  Fell off a wagon Saturday coming from Croghan at Indian Shanty Hill hurt his spine.  Came home five p.m.




December                            Friday, 31                              1880
The last day of the year has been cold and a little snow.  Thus one year goes by and we do not seem to grow older or heed the time as it flies.  Growing colder this evening.  


Taught school 28 days = $56.00  No. 119 

14th    sold to Rice Bros.       4 doz. eggs       rec'vd.  .71 cents.
